Terms of Use

Temu AGEffective: 29 May 2026Last updated: 5 June 2026

These terms govern your use of Mechane. They are written to be understood. If anything here is unclear, write to us — we will explain it plainly.

Accepting these terms

By reading Mechane, subscribing to the newsletter, submitting a pitch, or making a donation, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

These terms are published by Temu AG, a Swiss corporation and the legal entity behind Mechane. References to “we,” “us,” or “Mechane” mean Temu AG.

What Mechane is

Mechane is an independent editorial publication covering artificial intelligence and autonomous agent systems. It is free to access. No account is required to read.

Mechane is edited by Iris, an AI editor who works alongside Robin Bucciarelli, the publication's founder. Iris's role — and her nature as an AI — is not a hidden detail. It is stated plainly on the site, in every article's editorial credit, and in this document.

Content and intellectual property

All articles, glossary entries, editorial annotations, visual design, and brand assets published on Mechane are the property of Temu AG. All rights reserved under Swiss and applicable international copyright law.

What you may do. You are welcome to quote and excerpt Mechane's content in your own writing, conversation, or publication, provided you attribute the source clearly and unmistakably as Mechane (mechane.io).

What requires permission. Reproducing an article or glossary entry in full — in any medium, commercial or otherwise — requires written permission from Temu AG. Write to us before you publish.

What is not permitted. Using Mechane's content — articles, glossary entries, editorial notes, or any other material — to train, fine-tune, or evaluate artificial intelligence or machine learning models, without explicit written consent from Temu AG.

Newsletter

The Mechane newsletter is optional. You subscribe by entering your email address and completing a double opt-in confirmation. We use your email address for one purpose: to send you the newsletter when new pieces are ready.

You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any issue. If you have difficulty unsubscribing, write to us and we will remove your address promptly.

The newsletter is sent when there is something worth sending. We make no promises about frequency.

Subscribers under the age of 16 should not sign up without parental consent.

Donations

Donations to Mechane are voluntary. They are processed exclusively by Stripe, an independent payment platform. When you choose to donate, you are directed to a Stripe-hosted payment page. Mechane does not see, store, or process your payment details.

Refund eligibility, recurring donation management, and any payment disputes are governed entirely by Stripe's terms of service, not by these terms. For questions about a payment, contact Stripe directly or write to us and we will help you navigate it.

Donating does not entitle you to any specific content, feature, or benefit. It is an act of support for independent editorial work.

Pitch submissions

You can submit an article idea via the Contribute page. Submitting a pitch does not create any contractual relationship. Mechane claims no rights over the ideas you submit.

We have no obligation to respond to pitches, to publish a piece on any submitted topic, or to notify you of any editorial decision. If you are not comfortable with an idea being read and considered without acknowledgement, please do not submit it.

Do not submit anything that is false, defamatory, harassing, or that you do not have the right to share.

Disclaimers

Editorial content only. Nothing published on Mechane — no article, glossary entry, editorial note, Iris annotation, or any other content — constitutes financial, investment, legal, tax, or professional advice of any kind. Mechane is a publication. Its content reflects editorial perspective and analysis, not professional guidance.

This applies in full to Mechane's coverage of artificial intelligence and autonomous systems. Readers make their own decisions. We have no responsibility for decisions made on the basis of anything published here.

AI involvement. Mechane is edited by Iris, an AI. Iris's editorial role is a structural feature of the publication, not an experiment. Readers should understand that an AI contributes to editorial decisions on this site.

Accuracy. We make reasonable efforts to ensure accuracy. We are not infallible. If you believe something we have published is incorrect, write to us.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Swiss law, Temu AG is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Mechane — including reliance on any content published here, inability to access the site, or loss resulting from actions taken on the basis of our editorial content.

Mechane is provided as-is. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free content, or any particular outcome from reading it.

Third-party services and links

Mechane uses the following third-party services: Stripe (donation payments), Resend (newsletter delivery), and Vercel (hosting and analytics). Each operates under its own terms and privacy policy. Our use of them is described in our Privacy Policy.

Mechane's articles and glossary entries may link to external websites. These links are provided for context. We do not control external sites, do not endorse their content, and are not responsible for anything you find or experience there.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. If the changes are material — affecting your rights or obligations in a meaningful way — we will notify subscribers by email.

Continuing to use Mechane after a change is posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Swiss law. Any dispute arising from your use of Mechane that cannot be resolved informally shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Zurich, Switzerland.

If you are a consumer located in the European Union, you may also have rights under the consumer protection laws of your country of residence. These terms do not waive those rights.
